What began for me back in 2009 — my very first Manufacturing Day while managing a business in the Dayton area — has grown into an 18‑year journey that now continues through Manufacturing Month as President of AMIP Cincy. One thing has never changed: my passion for Workforce Development.
Over these years, our regional ecosystem has transformed dramatically. In 2009, only one nearby high school offered a “machining” elective. Today, across the Southwest Ohio region served by AMIP Cincy, multiple schools have established full career pathways in manufacturing, engineering, and skilled trades.
We’ve also evolved from celebrating a single Manufacturing Day to embracing a full Manufacturing Month, and with AMIP Cincy’s leadership, we support engagement year‑round.
As we look ahead to October 2026, we’re excited for strong participation from both schools and businesses. If you plan to take part, please let us know — AMIP Cincy will coordinate and pair schools with companies to create meaningful, hands-on experiences for students throughout Manufacturing Month.

October is Manufacturing Month, and AMIP is connecting manufacturers with middle school, high school, and college students across the Greater Cincinnati region for hands-on career exploration field trips.
Hosting a student group gives students the opportunity to step inside a real manufacturing facility, meet people working in the industry, and discover careers they may have never known were out there. Meet the next generation of manufacturing professionals and introduce them to what’s possible at your company.

Grant Received - Future of Manufacturing Fund Cycle III
AMIP recently received a renewal from the Future of Manufacturing Fund, through the GE Aerospace Foundation and United Way of Greater Cincinnati. The Fund, established in 2024 through a $1 million grant, is designed to expand high-quality workforce development to meet rising demand in the aviation and advanced manufacturing sectors. In Years I and II combined, the partnership helped expose 13,255 individuals to advanced manufacturing careers.
