It’s been a hot summer in Ohio—and an even hotter one for AMIP here in Cincinnati!
While teachers enjoyed their last few weeks of a well-deserved summer break, school administrators and AMIP were already busy preparing for the 2026–2027 school year. Before we jump into another exciting year, I want to take a moment to look back and thank everyone who helped make this past year such a success.
To our educators, community partners, manufacturers, and supporters, thank you. Because of your commitment and collaboration, we were able to create meaningful opportunities for students and adults across Southwest Ohio as they prepared to enter the manufacturing workforce. Together, we're building a stronger talent pipeline and making a real difference in our communities.
Last month's AMIP workshop on Innovative Benefits was another great opportunity for our members to learn about options. With healthcare costs continuing to rise, the session introduced creative ideas and practical strategies that companies can use to better support their employees while managing costs.
As we head into fall, we have some exciting events on the calendar. In the third quarter, we'll host Resilient Workplaces, featuring speakers and ideas to help organizations build stronger, more adaptable teams. Then, in the fourth quarter, we'll partner with our sister organization, DRMA, along with Miami University and Butler Tech, for The Power of the Corridor—a collaborative event focused on the future of manufacturing in our region.
There's a lot to be excited about. Thank you for being part of the AMIP community and for everything you do to strengthen manufacturing in Southwest Ohio.

This summer, 20 area educators participated in Externships at 10 manufacturers! These two-day experiences pair teachers with manufacturing employees, where they learn the basics of working at the facility. After their experiences, educators create a lesson plan to bring back to their schools and share with their students. This helps create awareness of the quality jobs that need filled in our region!
Clermont Northeastern Educators at GE Vernova!
Sinclair Instructors had this to say about their experience at VEGA:
“The schedule that was prepared for us allowed us to meet a variety of Vega employees from many different departments. Each individual took the time to explain what their role at Vega is and answered our many questions about those roles and the skills needed to be successful in their role at Vega. I was impressed by the depth to which the company values were carried by all the folks we met.”
CTE Access Grants Awarded at Two Area Schools!
AMIP is pleased to announce the continuation of work through two grant initiatives! Governor DeWine recently announced $3.2 Million across the state to expand Career Tech Manufacturing Programs. AMIP will be supporting the two Career Tech Planning Districts in our region to build NEW programs in their high schools:

U.S. Grant Career Center
Manufacturing Month is Around the Corner!
October is Manufacturing Month, and we’re excited to celebrate the incredible work being done by companies like yours. We’re inviting local manufacturers to open their doors to students for tours, demonstrations, or interactive activities that showcase what modern manufacturing looks like.
These experiences spark curiosity, build career awareness, and help students see the amazing opportunities available in our region. Whether you can host a small group for a walkthrough or offer a hands-on activity, your involvement would make a huge impact.
If you’re open to participating, Education Training Manager Katie Myers would love to talk through options and find a date in October that works well for your team.
Thanks so much for considering this—our students would be thrilled to learn from you. Sign up today to bring students into your facility!
Build in-demand manufacturing skills this summer! Whether you’re looking to grow your career or develop your workforce, Sinclair’s August manufacturing skills training can help.
